A cast of 25 students will participate in a groundbreaking theater experience this weekend when “Sing Me a Happy Song” will take the stage at the Black Box Theatre on the Valencia campus of College of the Canyons. “This is a unique and exciting project for many reasons,” said [director Andrea] Slominski. “We are happy to be associated with the Festival of New American Musicals and to be at the ground floor of a wonderful new show.” Slominski said a rough workshop performance of “Sing Me a Happy Song” was held two years ago with five days of rehearsal. “Now we get to stage the show with five weeks of rehearsal,” she said.
